Maximize Team Productivity With Project Management Tool monday.com

Managing teams is not easy. It’s why project management has become such a crowded niche in the software marketplace. One of the players in that category is monday.com, a tool that visualizes group tasks and fosters productive practices. The tool offers a variety of features to help companies get the most out of their employees. Here’s why monday.com is worth a shot.

    Human-Focused Productivity

All project management tools emphasize getting stuff done. This one does as well. But what monday.com seems to understand is that it’s real humans who drive businesses, and keeping them driven is key. The task board is accessible to all team members, which helps create transparency. Each team member knows what tasks they own and how those contribute to the big picture. Completed tasks aren’t archived like they are in other project management tools. Instead, they stay part of the board as a reminder of everything the team has achieved.

    Visual Project Management

The old proverb goes, “out of sight, out of mind.” Maybe the converse is true as well. monday.com visualizes your business’ to-do lists chronologically on a color-coded board. Each row is called a pulse (monday.com used to be called DaPulse and now you know why) and contains a singular task. Each pulse has an owner, who’s responsible for getting it done. The tool offers 20 different colors tasks can be tagged with, so at any given time you know exactly what stage each task is at.

The visualization is useful on two levels. For employees it’s an easy way to know exactly what they need to get done. For managers and business owners, it shows how resources are being used and where there are opportunities to optimize processes.

    Centralized, Contextual Communication

Meetings are the bane of most employees’ existence. One alternative to meetings is email, but those are no fun either. monday.com users get to communicate within the tool, which saves time and centralizes discussions. In-app communication can be done within tasks so the context of each message is clear. Team members can tag each other in comment and can use shortcuts to tag entire teams. monday.com also supports file uploads, so your employees can add documents or video to messages if required. The powerful communication capabilities are an important contributor to increased productivity.

    Integrate Data Easily

monday.com integrates with a lot of other team management and communication tools. That includes Slack, Google Calendar, Dropbox, Microsoft Excel, Trello, and Jira, a project management tool used by software teams. You can do things like turn messages in Slack channels directly into pulses on monday.com using a shortcut. Trello boards can be added automatically to the tool to visualize progress. The integrations make it a lot easier to add monday.com to your workflow if and when you decide to do it.

    Keep Clients in The Loop

monday.com is useful for more than just internal project management and task assignment. It can also be used to keep clients in the loop about what is happening with specific projects. Doing this is not unlike planning a project internally, except in this case you would add clients to the boards as well. The clearly visualized project roadmap will help clearly define the scope and progress of each project. Clients’ points of contact can communicate with them directly on the tool, so there’s a contextual history of all the exchanges. It’s a lot easier than communicating over email, where files and updates get lost in confusing mail trails.

monday.com’s annual subscription starts at $25 per month for five users. Learn more about how you can start using the software here.
