We’ve all had that heart wrenching feeling as we come back to the office and see the dreaded missed call from a really important client. Often times, such momentary lapse in availability can kill the momentum for a deal and until just a few years ago, relying on voicemail or springing for a receptionist were our only options. Unfortunately, voicemail is notorious for being impersonal, and staffing a receptionist can just be too expensive for small businesses and startups. Moneypenny.com, which got its start in the UK and recently expanded to the US this year, wants to change that.
Businesses Large or Small
Even if you have spoken to Moneypenny, odds are you would have never known it. In fact, that’s part of the appeal of the service. Whether you run a small business or a multinational corporation, Moneypenny’s goal is to seamlessly connect you with your calls, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.
Moneypenny is today’s answer to answering machines, but without a crotchety old lady answering your phone. In fact, Moneypenny prides itself on being driven first by people, then by technology. This means your calls are answered just as if they were being handled by your own staff. As a result, whether your client or customer reaches you or your Moneypenny representative, they probably won’t be able to tell the difference.
Your Outsourced Switchboard
Reliability has often been one of the key factors in having an internal staff member of your company being responsible for taking and forwarding your calls. Whether this has been effective for your firm or not, it’s more than likely that you’ve encountered some limitations. These include after hour calls, busy switchboards, vacations, and much more. Moneypenny solves these issues with receptionists that are not only trained to answer client calls efficiently and professionally, but to ensure that your calls are taken and delivered promptly.
Whatever your business situation is, you can count on your calls being answered by one person who will inevitably earn your trust as they consistently represent your business professionally to your clients. They even have a clever bypass feature that allows high priority callers to go directly to you instead of being intercepted by the receptionist.
Amazing Receptionists and More
If Moneypenny’s receptionists don’t impress you, you’ll certainly be impressed with all of the other features that come bundled with your monthly service. Every month you will be provided with a full log of all your calls, each listing who the call was from, its disposition, and more. These reports also provide a tracking of call trends, as well as other complementary tools and services that empower you and your company to work smarter than ever before.
Just like the analytics that you use for your accounting, website, and other tools, Moneypenny understands that you need every available advantage to grow your business and make it more competitive. As a result, you will not only know how many calls you got on a given day, but you will also know where those calls came from and how their volume compares to those from other periods, whichever you may need.
Standard or Tailored Services
Whether you need a service to make sure your calls are answered after business hours, during busy times, or when special needs such as Help Desk, Concierge, or Customer Service, Moneypenny receptionists make sure that your calls are answered and that these calls are looked after as if they were taken in your office. Moneypenny’s pricing is structured entirely on the volume of calls you receive, so you will always know what the price will be, and with no surprises. There are no hidden costs or fees. Just good old-fashioned service when you need it.
Regardless of who a call is intended for, they are routed to the appropriate person, whoever they might be, and wherever they might be. Every call is answered and transferred to the correct person’s phone or cell phone, or a message is taken and passed through to its destination via text or email. This way every call reaches its intended recipient quickly and with a minimum of interference.

As long as the receptionists are cool and friendly, I can see this working for me.
There are many other services like this one out there. For small businesses in today’s markets, getting communication going through email and social media almost more important than over the phone.
“… they probably won’t be able to tell the difference.” Probably? As long as my customers, from America, are not getting a customer service rep from India, I think we will be OK.
Hi there to every body, it’s my first pay a quick visit of
this blog; this weblog contains remarkable and truly good stuff in support of readers.
Hi, I’m Herman. І search the web, endlessly, for interesting itwms to share.Hope you lіke this one.
Again, this is a great program for a smaller business that might have a lot of customer contact, but not enough employees to take all of the calls. I think this would give the owners of the business more time to grow and less to worry about at the same time.
I agree with you. When you are in the startup phase, there are many things that you are worrying about and if you think you have to get more employees, the first thing you should do is wait it out and look into other options. Programs like this can save money and other expenses.
This is seriously great for small businesses or businesses that don’t have a lot of employees. You can give the illusion of being a much larger company by having your own switchboard handled by moneypenny. I wish I thought of this idea haha! The brilliance here is that everything is already set up for you. A lot of the time in small business you find yourself wearing many hats and finding ways to eliminate that and continue working on your actual business will make your business grow.
I know a few friends who are struggling with stuff like this right now in their new businesses. One friend has a roofing company and is constantly on the phone with workers, clients, and customers. He should look into something like this.
You are right. But even if you do not have that many employees, why would you really need this?
This is some incredible stuff. The more I see stories like this, half of me thinks it’s really interesting and a really great business idea, the other half thinks robots are taking over the world. If we keep outsourcing everything there won’t be anything left that the robots can’t do and there will be billions of people without work.
That being said, this is a great service because assumingly the people at moneypenny are experts in their area. You won’t have to bring someone in and train them to do a job like this, they already have it covered. You just pay them a fee every month and you’re good. My old company would lose business all the time because the phone system was so messed up.
