There is no other way to say this: you will not believe this story. You will most certainly enjoy it, but you will not believe the insane, improbable and wildly inspiring story of the Italian entrepreneur named Bibop Gresta, now the COO of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (having just announced a partnership with Deutsche Bahn and an entry plan for India).
In case you’ve forgotten, the Hyperloop is that whole self-powering-speed-of-sound-capsule-in-a-tube-that-will-probably-change-the-world concept thingy that some guy, Elon Musk, cooked up in some whitepaper back in 2013.
In Part 1 of our 2-part interview, Bibop shares tales of his early years in Italy, how he became the teenage computer prodigy of an international corporation, his history as a chart-topping club-promoter-turned-famous-singer-dancer-and-television-host, and of course, the story of the final “kick” that brought him to the US (it involves dancing) and ultimately put him behind the wheel of the future of transportation.
Next week, in Part 2, we’ll dive into the Hyperloop, its technology, and all that it promises. For now though, enjoy The Background of Bibop while Bibop and Ben enjoy a bottle of Sassicaia…

Well, transportation is one thing that is not going anywhere, ever. We will always have to get from one place to the next. Getting that to be more efficient and comfortable is a great goal to have.
I would really like to get into that Hyperloop for a ride. That could be one of those things that changes the way transportation is done forever.
