    Savvy business owners and marketers know to change their advertisements and the style or message of their campaigns regularly. Potential customers can become blind to an over familiar image, slogan or campaign message and not all customers will be responsive to the same hook. But sometimes a new ad campaign isn’t enough. If traffic is falling and sales slump, it may be time to hit refresh and give your brand a makeover. Rebranding is not just an emergency measure. It is a powerful way to breathe new life into your business.

    Overhaul Your Website

    Website fashions and technology change with the times. Recreating your website should be a priority when rebranding. New levels of design and functionality can increase visitor interaction and satisfaction. Is your website responsive so that it looks and performs equally well across all platforms? More customers are using mobile technology than ever before. Google recently updated its algorithms to favour responsive web design in search engine results. Be sure that your new website not only looks good but delivers a great customer experience regardless of the device used to access it.

    Update Your Keyword Strategy

    Most organic traffic still comes via the search engines. The key to search traffic is keyword optimization. Revisit your keyword strategy and update it to more closely reflect the interests of your target audience and your current products and services. These days, reducing the number of keywords can help boost a website’s position in search as “keyword stuffing” is seen as “spammy.” Time spent on refining your keyword strategy, placement and frequency can make a difference overnight.

    Boost Your Social Media Presence

    The new big thing in getting traffic is via the social media such as Facebook and Twitter. You should be sure your social media profiles reflect your new brand and are regularly updated. Don’t make a sales pitch in each post. Aim to give real value and engage with your customer base. Your website should have big, visible share buttons as the social media are the new “word of mouth.” When your customers can easily share your products or services with thousands of others at the click of a mouse, they become your greatest ambassadors.

    Boost Traffic, Sales and Income

    Once you’ve completed your rebranding don’t keep it to yourself! Send out press releases, make a new ad campaign, announce it on the social media and make a noise. If you rebrand your business in this way and let everyone know about it you will see a significant boost in traffic, sales and income. Once the word is out, keep buzz going by refreshing your ad campaigns and engaging your new customers in conversation. That way, you’ll see an immediate boost in traffic and sustained growth over time.
